VISA Requirements
Please contact your local Brazilian Embassy or Consulate to check both the Visa and Vaccination requirements, because it may vary from one country to another. You can find contact information (most of the countries are listed) at the website www.mre.gov.br/ingles/endereco/embaixadas.asp

Vaccination

At the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate you can confirm if you need a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate to enter Brazil . You do not need a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate to enter Brazil if you are traveling from the United States or Europe directly to some Brazilian States in the south, like São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, etc.. Yellow Fever Vaccination is recommended if the applicant intends to visit one of the following regions in Brazil: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Federal District, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, Tocantins.


However, a Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is required if you have visited in the past 90 days or if you will visit one of the following countries before entering Brazil: Angola, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Colombia, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, French Guyana, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Peru, Sierra Leone, Sudan and Venezuela.


Arriving in Campinas
Most attendees will arrive at the São Paulo / Guarulhos International Airport (GRU).
Some national flights (within Brazil) may arrive at the São Paulo/Congonhas Airport (CGH) . If you have a connection in Brazil before arriving in São Paulo you may arrive at this airport.

Campinas is about 1:45h to 2 hours from São Paulo airports and is easily reached by good highways.

Viracopos International airport is only 15 minutes away from the hotel and can also serve as a gateway for some international flights.


Transfer Services from Airports
Caprioli Turismo offers a regular bus transfer service to Campinas, departing from São Paulo national or international airports and from Viracopos, in Campinas. Delegates can also book a private car or van.

1. Airport Shuttle Service
Caprioli Turismo offers a shuttle bus service from São Paulo airports (GRU or CGH) to downtown Campinas, at the Caprioli Office. Time of travel is 1h45 to 2 hours.
How to find the service:
Arriving at the Guarulhos (GRU) International Airport you will find Caprioli Shuttle Desk at Terminal 2 - Wing C / Arrival Area (Ground Floor), outside at the side walk, where you will also find other offices such as car rentals and lockers.

If you are in the Congonhas Airport (CGH) you will have to reach the side walk at the ground floor (next to the taxi service) and buy the ticket directly with the Caprioli bus driver.

2. Private Services
Your can book a private car or van (if you are in a group) to take you from the airports in São Paulo to your hotel in Campinas. The driver will be waiting for you at the Arrival Area with a sign indicating your name.

Airport official taxis are reliable. You can take a cab from either airport in São Paulo directly to your hotel. Costs are around R$300 / US$170.

Currency
The currency in Brazil is Reais.

Credit Cards
Major credit cards Visa, MasterCard, American Express are widely accepted.

Time
From October to February, Brazil operates on Greenwich Mean Time + 1h.

Electrical Current

The Brazil operates on 127 volts for electrical appliance. The frequency is 50-60 Hertz.

Metrification

Climate
The climate in November is warm, with average temperatures of 22° to 30°C.

What to Pack
Include casual wear. Suit and tie for the gala dinner. Comfortable shoes for the visits are advised.

Shopping
Campinas is a busy city with downtown shopping areas and large suburban shopping malls. There is a huge array of products to bring home – from hand-made crafts to international designer labels. Shopping mall hours are from 10.00am to 10.00pm Monday to Saturday, and from 12.00pm to 6.00pm on Sundays.

Tipping
A small tip is appreciated for good service. A 10% is usual in pubs, bars and restaurants.

Language
The official language of the symposium is English. There will be no translation.

Insurance
Insurance is the responsibility of the participants themselves. The organization does not accept any liability or responsibility for illness/death, or injury to or financial loss by any person attending this symposium, whatever the cause.

Accomodation
